Version: 0.14wija is a testbed for pursuing all possibilities of communication on the Internet that you can ever think of.
Operating System: Mac OS X
wija is a software for open and extensible instant messaging and sharing presence information. It lets you send/receive messages instantly and participate in chats.
wija is also a software that enables you to try "everything you can do over the Internet" by providing a pluggable architecture to extend its functionalities. It is a foundation for testing all possibilities of communication on the Internet.
Using wija, you can send messages instantly to your friends, chat, and share presence information with them. wija is integrated with GnuPG, so that you can make your communication secure; you can encrypt and/or digitally sign your messages, and sign your presence if you prefer.
But those are not all wija is about. It can be extended freely and easily by adding plug-in modules. Such modules may be bundled with our distributions of wija, or independently developed and distributed. By developing your own modules and plugging them into wija, you can try out "everything you can do over the Internet" yourself.
Here are some key features of "wija":
· Uses Jabber/XMPP protocols, which is open and extensible
· Lets you encrypt and/or digitally sign messages, and digitally sign your presence by using PGP (GnuPG). Features to handle public keys and their trusts are also provided.
· Extensible with plug-in modules.
· Lets you use barter currencies with the i-WAT plug-in module (bundled with our distributions). wija is a software for free association of people.
· Java 1.4.2 or later
