Wikiwall is a bash script that can set the picture of the day (POTD) from en.wikipedia.org as your desktop wallpaper in KDE.
The script saves the wallpaper pictures in the /tmp directory, and keeps a history of one week back in time. It also checks if wikipedia is reachable and if the wallpaper is already the current one, so you don't waste time downloading the same image over and over again.
To use Wikiwall, you'll need to have KDE 3.5.x installed. But once you've got it up and running, you'll appreciate its convenience and ability to keep your desktop looking fresh and interesting. And if you run into any issues, the latest release includes a bugfix for the set-auto option.
