Wmisdn is a monitoring dock applet that keeps track of the i4l ISDN subsystem.
The main window of WMISDN displays the status of the monitored ippp device. Additionally, the user can toggle an additional panel that shows extended information about the connection. WMISDN can control the ippp connection through three buttons that appear on the upper side of the main window once toggled using the vertical arrow switch. The green button opens the connection, the yellow button closes it, and the red button disables it.
When launching WMISDN, users can utilize several command-line options. The -w option is used to dock the applet into the Windowmaker dock. Similarly, the -s option is suitable for Afterstep and other dock-enabled window managers. The -dialmode option tells WMISDN which dial mode to use for the device when the user presses the button that stops the connection, and the dialing process is enabled. This option allows users to either choose the automatic dialing feature of i4l or choose manual mode.
The -device option is used to specify the ippp devices that should be monitored, and these devices are expected to be included in a comma-separated list of device names with NO BLANKS, such as "-device ippp0, ippp1, ippp5." In most systems, the only configured device is ippp0, and it is the default setting if none are specified. Users can also specify a slave device to monitor, such as an mppp, using this option.
The -lamps option causes the connection control buttons to display directly upon startup, as if a "magic hand" pressed the vertical arrow button that toggles them. This option is intended for users who need to keep the buttons permanently visible. If users have set up the hangup timeouts and default routes correctly, so dialing and hanging up is done automatically, they won't need the control buttons often. Thus, to make WMISDN look uncluttered, the control buttons are hidden by default.
Lastly, the -font option can be used to specify a different font for the info window and device display. The default font is the LED-builtin. The font name must adhere to the X11 font naming conventions and be placed in quotation marks. The -usescripts and -path options deal with the scripting feature of WMISDN, and users can refer to the SCRIPTS file for more information.
