WMLog: a dock application for WindowMaker.
With the click of a button, WMLog opens an xterm window to display 'tail -f -n4 /var/log/message /var/log/warn ~/.X.err', so you can easily keep track of the latest system events. The top of the app features a set of LEDs that turn red when certain events occur, including failed su commands, failed login commands, tftp attacks, WMaker errors, Sendmail errors, kernel messages, root login events, and other messages.
Users can click any of the LEDs to see its function and the number of times it has turned red (represented as a counter). Additionally, should you wish to pause or resume the scrolling of messages, simply click on the scroll-window to stop or start it.
As for installation, it's a breeze even for novice users. Simply navigate to the wmlog-0.2/wmlog folder, type in the commands './configure', 'make', and 'make install' as root, and you'll be up and running in no time. So why wait? If you're looking for an easy-to-use dockapp that can help keep you informed about your system, download WMLog today!
