WMsmixer is an enhanced version of wmmixer that provides additional features and modified display settings.
Installing the software is easy and can be done with the following commands: xmkmf make make install. Be sure to read the README.wmmixer file for additional information, which will also apply to this program (with the exception of the recsrc code, which has been removed).
So what's new in this release? For starters, scrollwheel support has been added: if your scrollwheel is mapped to buttons 4 and 5, using it will increase or decrease the volume of the current channel. The recsrc code has been removed, and some minor display changes have been made.
Additionally, the setname configuration option has been added. This option allows you to give a different channel name (maximum of four characters) to the built-in one if you prefer. Clicking on the channel icon will briefly display the text name of the channel, which is also displayed when switching channels.
Finally, mono channels have been updated to have one wide bar instead of two thinner ones. Some icons have also been changed or added, but there are still a few icons that need to be created. The creators welcome any submissions from users for additional icons.
Overall, if you're seeking a version of wmmixer with improved functionality and additional features, WMsmixer is a great option to consider.
