WordConvs

I recently used WordConvs, a document conversion and formatting software to assist with batch conversion of multiple documents. The software comes in handy with a Microsoft Word 8 or higher version and an external program of your choice. In just one step, you can set the parameters for a standardized output in terms of page, paragraph, and font setup.

WordConvs not only converts documents, but it can also be used for standardization of pre-existing Word format documents. It is compatible with Word 2007 and allows PDF conversion as well. With the external program, OdfConverterTest.exe(), one can even convert Open Office documents to MS Word documents.

Using an external converter program can be useful when the converter lacks batch capability or does not allow one to scan subdirectories, process hidden files, or test the completeness of the conversion. Some converters truncate the conversion without any indication of errors in the input file, which can be dangerous when processing large document numbers. However, WordConvs has the capability to manage these situations securely.

WordConvs has solved the truncation issue through the introduction of a program that counts the words, lines, and characters of the input document. By comparing these counters to those counted internally by MsWord in the output document, WordConvs can detect the possible truncation of certain documents. The approximate word count of the input file only accounts for the formatting of the text. That said, the software includes a program in its configuration to count the words, lines, and characters with varying levels of accuracy, depending on the text's format.

WordConvs also includes a new feature of setting a threshold of percent difference that gives rise to a warning message. I found this feature to be useful in the sense that it helps to ensure that the outputted documents are thorough and complete. Overall, I found WordConvs to be a reliable software that simplifies document formatting and conversion.
