The WSGI application adapter is a straightforward solution that allows the connection of your web application to any server platform such as mod_python, CGI, PHP, and AppEngine.
The module comes with several recipes as well, making it even easier for you to deploy your application. wsgifront has already set up various adapters, such as mod_python, CGI, PHP (along with Python installed anywhere in the system), Google AppEngine, CherryPy (with the full application server or standalone WSGI server), and wsgiref.simple_server. As a developer, you'd see that some of these servers already exhibit WSGI-like behavior. With those, wsgifront normalizes the environment and forwards the requests effectively.
wsgifront deliberately keeps the adapters minimal, making it straightforward for you to implement. However, it does contain sample middleware for URL dispatching, sessions, and error handling. You may choose to integrate them into your app or not, depending on your needs. Other than those features, wsgifront steps back and sticks to providing only the server-side adapters, not obstructing you unnecessarily.
