Xcalib is a tool that enables users to calibrate their monitors on XFree86 or X.org and MS-Windows. It is a small and efficient loader that helps users adjust their display settings.
To use the xcalib software, simply provide an ICC profile containing a vcgt or mLUT tag as the last parameter. Alternatively, you can use the "-a" or "-alter" parameter to clear the LUT. The available options include display, screen, clear, noaction, verbose, printramps, loss, invert, gammacor, brightness, contrast, red, green, blue, help, and version.
For testing purposes, we recommend using the gamma_1_0.icc and gamma_2_2.icc profiles. You can create profiles with vcg-tables using most profile creation suites. To make things even easier, we've included an example profile with a vcg-table named bluish.icc, which simulates a very high whitepoint (without further intentions).
Overall, xcalib is an exceptional software program that provides an extensive range of options to calibrate your monitor settings. It requires ICCLIB and Little CMS, but they're optional and can be installed easily. Try xcalib today and take your monitor's performance to the next level!
