Xonclock is a basic analog clock displayed on the screen of X, which is easy to use and understand.
For example, if you are using KDE 3.2.1, you will need to set window placement as "Zero-Cornered" for xonclock to have the desired effect. Otherwise, the xonclock "--placement" option will not work. If you are using xonclock with KDE, GNOME or XFce, it is important to note that the "--no-winredirect" xonclock option is required.
Another great feature of xonclock is that it comes with an internal clock skin that has been taken from the ClockX program with its author's permission. You can also find additional skins available online.
Although the program is already excellent, there may be a few bugs that users might encounter. If you find a bug, do not hesitate to fix it and provide a patch instead of swearing at the developer.
To run xonclock on your system, you will need the following: imlib-1.9.15, make-3.80, gcc-3.3.2, XFree-4.3.0 or XOrg-6.8.2 (with Xrender and Xshape extensions support), and FreeType2-2.1.9.
The latest version of xonclock has fixed the problem of ignoring time-zone customization options - so you can enjoy an improved user experience.
