Xtarot is a Tarot card playing application designed to provide an easy and convenient way to explore the mystical world of Tarot divination. With its intuitive interface and accurate interpretations, Xtarot allows users to connect with their inner selves and gain insights into their past, present, and future.
One of the most noteworthy aspects of xtarot is that it has been split into two packages, which offers a lot of benefits for users. For one, this ensures that people who want to stay up-to-date with the latest version no longer need to download over 3 Meg of graphics every time there is a change to the code. Additionally, the software requires X11, since it is an X Window application, and Imlib.
To install xtarot, all you need to do is get xtarot-1.0.x.tgz and xtarot.resources.tgz first before navigating to the relevant folder and entering the following commands:
$ tar xvzf xtarot-1.0.x.tgx
$ mv xtarot.resources.tgz xtarot-1.0.x
$ cd xtarot-1.0.x
$ tar xvzf xtarot.resources.tgz
$ ./configure
$ make
$ make install
In the latest release, xtarot offers an exciting 5-card Yes/No spread and a new function called question() that prompts the user to meditate on The Truth and ask a question. Additionally, the software shows how to use xlib to get keyboard input, but clearing an area after BackSpace is pressed remains a bit unclear.
Finally, there is an esoteric reference to The Book of Mozilla, which adds an interesting touch to the software. Overall, I would definitely recommend anyone interested in Tarot cards to give this software a try, especially since the new split package ensures that downloading the latest version has never been quicker!
