A basic mail notification software for Maildir-format, commonly used with MTA qmail. Sends alerts when new mail arrives in the mailbox.
To customize the Yamn script, refer to the PERSONALIZATION section for detailed instructions. Once you've completed this step, you can create two icons on your desktop with the following functions; "YAMN on" to invoke the "yamn.sh" file and "YAMN off" to execute "yamn.sh stop." Refer to your GUI documentation for details.
To enable/disable email notification, click on "YAMN on" or "YAMN off," respectively. In case of any issues, an error-soundfile will play, alerting you to the problem. To find out more, enter the corresponding error command in a shell to get the detailed error message.
Note that Yamn detects new mails by checking the number of mails in your inbox folder. Suppose you delete two emails from your inbox folder and receive one or two new emails within the yamn.sh check period. In that case, Yamn may not recognize the new email(s). A future release may fix this issue by recognizing the time of the newest file. For now, consider setting a smaller check period as a workaround.
