Enhance your GNOME desktop with a sleek, contemporary GTK theme.
The theme is easy to install - simply right-click on your desktop and select "Change Desktop Background". Next, click on the first tab, "Theme". Then, drag and drop the theme's archive into the Appearance Preferences window. Assuming that everything is in order, you'll receive a confirmation message and can activate the theme by simply clicking on it.
For those unfamiliar with GNOME, it is a global effort to build a comprehensive desktop environment, consisting entirely of free software. This effort encompasses developing software development frameworks, selecting application software for the desktop, and working on the programs that manage application launching, file handling, window and task management, and more. GNOME is part of the GNU Project and can be used with a variety of Unix-like operating systems - notably, Linux - as well as the Java Desktop System in Solaris.
Originally, GNOME stood for "GNU Network Object Model Environment," though the acronym has since been deprecated. The GNOME project places a great deal of emphasis on simplicity, usability, and ensuring that everything "just works."
