YAFM is an expense and income-tracking software designed for personal financial management purposes.
There are plenty of financial management software programs available in the market, so why should you choose YAFM? Firstly, it's incredibly easy to use. The aim isn't to track every penny you spend (which can be tedious), but to track your expenses as accurately as you need. Secondly, YAFM is supposed to be a tool to help you know roughly how much and what you're spending on, without making you feel guilty if you're unable to track every expense or if your expenses and incomes are not balanced to the penny.
YAFM BETA is a free software, but version 1.0 will be commercial software. If you want a free 1.0 license, you can donate any amount, but the suggested amount is $10 (the pricing of version 1.0 may vary between $10-$20). This application is powered by Ruby on Rails and can be used via a browser, locally. You need to have a Ruby interpreter and SQLite installed to run it on your computer. It works on Windows, Unix/Linux or Mac OS X environments.
For Windows, which is likely to be the main platform for most users, there are sqlite.dlls provided with the program. The application has been used by the developer since April 2006 and has proved to be very useful. With YAFM, users can manage their finances with ease and without any stress about 100% accurate data. Even if you don't have the patience to enter all your expenses precisely, the app will still give you helpful insights. The developer promises to release much more polished versions in the future, with more features added in.
