YAORB is a software that offers an implementation of CORBA ORB technology.
One particularly noteworthy feature of YaOrb is its support for various package-specific options. These include the ability to build in "Development" configuration, allowing for all possible warning options to be turned on, and errors to be considered warnings using gcc with -Wall -Werror. This configuration is ideal for enforcing clean code.
The "Coverage" configuration is used to collect code coverage statistics and is dependent on gcc. After running tests, the resulting files can be read in $/.SCORE and $/.MISSING. Similarly, the "Profiling" configuration collects performance data and relies on specific gcc options and gprof. After running tests, the statistics collected can be viewed.
Overall, my experience using Yet Another Object Request Broker was positive. However, it is worth noting that this is the pre-alpha release (0.2) of the software.
