Yava is a lightweight v4l framegrabber software that allows TrueType fonts and ftp-upload support.
This project boasts impressive features, all written in ANSI C and utilizing popular libraries such as SDL, libcurl, and libpng. Frame grabbing is powered by the excellent SDL_bgrab library, while font rendering is handled via SDL_ttf.
Some key features of yava include tuner support, FTP-upload in both active and passive modes, TrueType font rendering, text color and positioning options, font selection and sizing, snapshots in png format, and the option for either live viewing or console mode.
Of course, the software has certain requirements in order to run properly, including SDL, SDL_bgrab (which is likely the only prerequisite not already installed on your system), libpng, curl, and optionally libFreeType and SDL_ttf.
Recent updates to yava include added support for JPEG output, overlay images, and filename sequencing. FTP support is now also optional. Other changes include new keybindings, bold and italic attributes, multiple text string update modes, basic fullscreen toggling, and various bug fixes.
