"Zebot is a versatile IRC bot with a playful touch, designed with modularity in mind." (22 words)
Currently, the bot has been completely rewritten from scratch to use POE::Component architecture. The core part uses the P:C:IRC module to communicate with the IRC server. The latest version of the bot is almost totally localizable, thanks to a new internationalization module. The print requests are done using tags, and these tags are then translated to the actual channel language before being printed out. The resource file format for this feature is in XML format. When specifying the different servers/channels to which the bot should connect, a default language for the given channels must be supplied.
Moreover, the new milestone version of Zebot integrates a whole new mechanism for the emotes triggered by the bot. This new mechanism is based on the internationalization module, thereby using an XML file-representation as a backup. This functionality allows reactions in multiple languages and differentiates the reactions based on the different modes of users.
One of the most unique features of this bot is its quirky personality - it behaves like a dog, which makes it a fun and lighthearted addition to any chatroom. The logo for the bot still needs some work, as the creator admits to not being skilled with Gimp or drawing. If someone could redesign the logo with the same spirit, it would be greatly appreciated.
Overall, Zebot is a flexible and enjoyable IRCbot that offers users a unique experience. Its ability to differentiate between users, localizable print requests, and internationalization of reactions make it a valuable addition to any chatroom. Its quirky personality and fun features ensure that it will take your IRC experience to the next level.
