Zenwalk Linux is a GNU/Linux operating system that is based on Slackware. It was previously known as Minislack.
One of the unique features of Zenwalk is its modular approach. This makes it easy to convert Zenwalk Linux into a finely-tuned modern server, such as LAMP, messaging, or file sharing. Regardless of the chosen configuration, Zenwalk's primary goal is always to be slim and fast.
The recently released Zenserver 0.5 includes the 2.6.19.7 kernel with the GRSecurity patch, Lighttpd, PHP, Mysql, Bind, Postfix, Samba, full development tools, WebLua, and many other things, including ZSAdmin for effective and simple systems administration. ZSAdmin is capable of enabling web scripting languages for Lighttpd, system configuration, configuring Inetd, configuring Mysql, and more.
Zenwalk's latest release - unofficially known as "Quirky" - was developed over four months and features a huge amount of changes. With its latest features and capabilities, Zenwalk remains a top choice among users looking for a slim, fast and customizable Linux operating system.
