Apache / PHP Enterprise

I recently had the opportunity to use Apache/PHP Enterprise, a software that is released under the GPL license. It is a runtime support that allows you to deploy your Applications as binary code, and this distribution includes IonCube Loaders. One thing to keep in mind is that your customers must download this distribution separately. You cannot embed it in the same package as your Software Application if your software is not GPL.

However, you are permitted to deliver your software as a separate package and install it in the place of your customers. The great news is that the code has been compiled with pure 64-bit mode, meaning that the Year 2038 Date Bug is now solved. Date is now 64-bit in PHP 4/PHP 5/Apache 2.2, and it can go with no problems after the critical second from January 2038.

The Apache/PHP Enterprise software contains both stable releases, that is, PHP 4 (4.4.9) and PHP 5 (5.5.26). In addition, the PHP MySQL extensions have been compiled using the 64-bit MySQL Enterprise 5.0.68 source code instead of the community release of MySQL to provide the latest stability in using MySQL Enterprise server.

The software comes with all the essential PHP extensions, such as GD and MBString, which are missing from many releases for MacOSX. Another great feature is that Apache/PHP Enterprise does not require any other software to be installed, neither GD nor MySQL, as everything will be installed in the /Applications/Open-Servers/ folder of MacOSX.
