Aupcheck is a software tool that enables you to keep an eye on your NGI F4 Flat Internet connections. The installation process is straightforward, as the "configure" shell script automatically detects the necessary system-dependent variables during compilation. It creates a "Makefile" in each directory of the package and generates one or more ".h" files with system-dependent definitions.

With the completion of the installation, the software creates a shell script called "config.status" that you can use later to recreate the current configuration. In addition, it generates a file called "config.cache," which can speed up the reconfiguration process, and a file called "config.log," which contains compiler output useful for debugging the "configure" process.

If you encounter any issues during the package compilation, try to determine how the "configure" script can check for them. Then, email the diffs or instructions to the address given in the "README" file for consideration in the next software release. In the event that "config.cache" contains undesired results, you can remove or edit it.

To produce "configure," the software uses "configure.in," which is created by a program called "autoconf." You only need "configure.in" if you want to regenerate "configure" using a newer version of "autoconf" or modify it.

To compile the package, the simplest method is to "cd" to the directory containing the source code and run "configure," which configures the package for your system. If you're on an old version of System V, use "sh ./configure" instead of "configure" to prevent the "csh" from executing the script. The configuration process may take some time, and it displays messages about the evaluated features.

After configuring the package, run "make" to compile it. You can also run the package's self-tests with "make check" and install the software and its data files and documentation with "make install." Use "make clean" to remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory. Use "make distclean" to remove the files created by "configure" to compile the package for a different type of computer. As a developer for the software package, the "make maintainer-clean" option may be necessary to regenerate some of the files that came with the distribution.

The software requirements for aupcheck are "libsgml 1.1.4." In the latest release, bug fixes were implemented.
