I recently had the opportunity to use the AVS 3D.VR software and I must say, I was truly impressed. This software is designed to improve the listening experience of all audio files, whether it be mono, stereo, surround, MP3, wave, etc. The software implements the US, EU, Int Pat audio system which can be easily retrieved on the web at "The NASA Astrophysics Data System, by Harvard".
One of the main features of AVS 3D.VR is the ability to upsample audio files to 192 kHz/32 bit float. Additionally, the software offers total transparent parametric filters which can be fine-tuned in frequency, Q, and amplitude. What I admired the most about these filters is that they do not introduce any audible digital artifacts such as dynamic compression, reduction of sound details, "plastification" of sound, or reduction/alteration of the soundstage.
Without even introducing "special effects", the stereo mode of AVS 3D.VR produces an evident increase of sound details, even starting from an MP3 file. However, the real magic happens in the AVS 3D.VR mode where the software delivers a dramatic improvement of the quality of reproduced sound. This is measured in terms of wideness of the soundstage, 3D reconstruction of sound subjects (sonic holograms), increase of perceived details, and increase of bass frequency perception without bass boost or subwoofer.
In fact, AVS 3D.VR has the ability to make the audio system disappear giving space only to the music. The audio quality is simply outstanding, especially when using the 4 speakers required for the VR mode. Furthermore, audio-video sources can also be reproduced in an excellent way starting from the stereo track of a DVD.
Overall, I would highly recommend AVS 3D.VR software to any audio enthusiast looking for a high-quality listening experience.
