Backup Bouncer

With Backup Bouncer, it's possible to create test volumes and populate them with various files. Then, run a test suite of popular (and not-so-popular) command-line copiers including cp, rsync, tar, ditto, pax, and xar. Lastly, you may verify the copy results from its own test suite or your preferred command-line or graphical tool.
