Carousel connects VoIP calls and landlines using professional telephony devices as a virtual FXO gateway.

The software finds its applications in several scenarios. Firstly, it can be used to create a 1 to 12 FXO gateway, which can then be used to route VoIP SIP calls to ordinary phone lines. Secondly, it is useful when users want to run a VoIP based PBX like Axon but a SIP Gateway or Broadband provider is not available. In this case, users can use VoIP to route calls in the office while keeping all external calls on ordinary telephone lines. Lastly, Carousel can also be used to route calls from a Virtual PBX using an existing LAN network.
The software boasts some noteworthy features that make it an attractive option. Firstly, it uses the standard SIP protocol to connect to any VoIP based service, lines or PBX. Secondly, the number of simultaneous calls is limited only by the hardware, but the software itself does not impose any limit. Thirdly, Carousel runs as a background service on any Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista computer, without any special server or server software. Fourthly, the software supports both PCI Telephony Cards and USB Telephony Devices to connect to real phone lines. Lastly, the software can be installed in just minutes.
Overall, Carousel is a reliable and efficient software for connecting VoIP calls to ordinary telephone lines and can prove useful in various scenarios.
