CryptoText offers cross-platform text and file encryption solutions for Microsoft Windows on Pocket PC and Desktop. With COM and .NET components, it provides compatibility and versatility for various devices and applications.
Using CryptoText, I was able to encrypt text on a Pocket PC using RC4 or 3DES, transfer the encrypted BinHex string up to a webserver and decrypt in ASP script, or encrypt a file in a .NET app and decrypt on a Pocket PC. I appreciate that there is complete interoperability between the listed platforms, which include Desktop Operating Systems (Win9x, NT4, 2000, XP, XP Tablet PC, 2003 Server) and Pocket PC / Windows CE Operating Systems (Windows CE, Pocket PC, Pocket PC 2002, Pocket PC 2003 Mobile).
Another great feature of CryptoText is its full support for Unicode where platform support is available (i.e., not Win9X) and ANSI (all platforms) on the listed platforms / cpus. The library also includes a Microsoft.NET CryptoText library built against the .NET CLR v1.0 and contained in the assembly CryptoTextNET.dll, as well as a COM/ActiveX CryptoText library contained in a dll called CryptoText.dll. Additionally, the Microsoft.NET Compact Framework (CF) CryptoText library is built against the .NET CF CLR 1.0 and is contained in the assembly CryptoTextCF.dll.
Overall, I found CryptoText to be a powerful encryption library that provides a wide range of functionality across various platforms and cpus. In particular, the fact that it includes our formerly separate products CryptoTextCE, CryptoFile and CryptoFileCE, in addition to new .NET components CryptoTextNET and CryptoTextCF, makes it stand out from other encryption libraries on the market. Highly recommended!
