django-oembed

I recently came across django-oembed, a great Django toolkit that provides a range of tools and features to conveniently convert oembed links embedded in text, into the actual embedded objects themselves. As a software reviewer, I'll be sharing my experience using this resourceful tool.

To get started with django-oembed, the first step is to install the toolkit by adding it to the INSTALLED_APPS section. Once that is done, the next step is to add the oembed tags to your template. This is achieved by including the following statement: {% load oembed_tags %}

Now, you can wrap an oembed tag around any relevant text where you want the link to be embedded, and django-oembed will do the rest. It searches for oembed-able links and replaces them with the relevant embed code.

Using the {% oembed %} and {% endoembed %} template tags followed by the url, the linked content will be embedded into the page. The embedded object will automatically adjust to the relevant width and height, so there’s really no need to adjust any additional settings.

It is also possible to control the width and height of the embedded object by simply adding an optional width and height parameter as shown in this example: {% oembed 320x240 %}...{% endoembed %}.

Overall, django-oembed is an excellent tool for simplifying the process of embedding linked content in your text. Its easy setup process and flexibility in customization make it a great choice for anyone looking to get started with oembed integrations.
