Edastro displays real-time astrology charts on your desktop in a constantly changing format.
Edastro is a desktop software that enables you to keep track of ever-changing astrology charts in real time. This package includes eight different themes to choose from, including standard wheel charts, aspect/midpoint grids, and dispositor hierarchy charts. Each theme is made in both light and dark colors to match your desktop, and some dark themes even come with an alternate background with a white shadow.
One of the best things about Edastro is that the themes update every two minutes so that you never miss any changes. You can click on the charts to see a larger version. The themes are created using ASTROLOG, an excellent freeware created by Walter D. Pullen. Each theme includes an astrolog executable, pre-compiled for 32-bit devices without graphics, which is included for convenience. Edastro also uses Imagemagick to resize images, make them transparent, and enhance clarity.
To set up a theme, all you need to do is find your location coordinates and then extract the theme to your preferred directory. Once you have changed to that directory, run the !SETUP install script from the command line and answer the questions that follow.
If you want to change the settings, check astrolog.dat config file for the calculation settings. Check the astrolog helpfile from its homepage to read about command line parameters and the seven chart types.
