IRRToolSet

The IRRToolSet is a set of policy analysis tools that has been written in C++. Designed to run under UNIX and using Tcl/Tk for graphics, this software provides a range of tools for generating router configuration files, displaying and checking routes, generating network aggregations, among other features.

Formerly known as the Routing Arbiter ToolSet (RAToolset), the IRRToolSet was maintained by ISI. The software comes packed with several key features, as highlighted below:

- RtConfig: analyzes the routing policies registered in the Internet Routing Registry (IRR) and produces router configuration files.
- CIDRAdvisor: suggests safe cidr aggregates, those that do not violate any policy constraints, that an Autonomous System (AS) can advertise to each of its neighbouring ASes.
- Peval: a low-level policy evaluation tool that can be used to write router configuration generators.
- Prtraceroute: prints the route and policy information packets take to a network host.
- Prpath: enumerates a list of paths between Autonomous System and a specified destination.
- Aoe: a C++/Tcl/Tk program that displays the aut-num object for the specified Autonomous System.
- Roe: a C++/Tcl/Tk program that lists the routes registered by the specified autonomous system.
- Rpslcheck(prcheck): syntax-checks the aut-num object for Autonomous System registered in the Internet Routing Registry (IRR).

The IRRToolSet's latest release comes with bug fixes for BSD-based operating systems. Overall, the software offers a range of useful features that aid in policy analysis, making it a recommendable tool.
