jcouchdb

jcouchdb is an impressive Java couchdb driver that utilizes the svenson JSON library to offer a multitude of features. One of its biggest advantages is its ability to support the full range from totally dynamic parsing to parsing into concrete java POJOs, including a mix in between. Although jcouchdb is in the early stages of development, a test suite has already been implemented, proving that it can perform most of the couchdb operations.

An example application called "Hood" has been created to demonstrate the capabilities of CouchDB and jcouchdb. The application is available for download as a sneak preview, and despite still requiring some bug fixes, feature implementation, and documentation, it works quite well. Hood is a Spring Web Application that showcases various techniques of working with jcouchdb. Additionally, it is an eclipse WTP/Spring IDE project with all dependencies you need besides couchdb and tomcat or another servlet container.

Although a non-alpha download will be available soon, for those who want to follow the development, the sources can be checked out anonymously via SVN. Overall, jcouchdb offers significant potential for developers who want to build robust Java applications with couchdb functionality.
