KchmViewer is a C++ based software designed to view CHM files.
KchmViewer is a helpful software built for viewing chm files, which are commonly used as MS HTML help file formats. The software was developed using C++ and is unlike most Unix-based CHM viewers out there since it uses Trolltech Qt widget library, which allows it to work without KDE or Gnome dependencies. However, the software can be compiled to work with KDE widgets and KIO/KHTML.
One of KchmViewer's significant selling points is its support for non-English languages. In most instances, the software correctly identifies the help file encoding and displays tables of context for Russian, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese help files without issue. Most importantly, KchmViewer is actually able to search for text in non-English help files, though it's still unstable when searching for MBCS languages like ja/ko/ch.
