Lefromoma

Lefromoma is an easy-to-use mame frontend that is written in python with a focus on cabinets. Its features include fullscreen mode, the ability to take snapshots, creating alphabetical favorites and ignore lists, and scaling of a game. To make the favorites list "prettier", all text in game names between parentheses (revision/version numbers, etc.) is stripped. Additionally, the software comes with three included wav files, including a "start up" sound, a "start game" sound, and a button sound.

Upon installation, Lefromoma creates four new directories in your rom directory: complete, favorites, ignore, and scaling. These directories are filled with symlinks, which don’t take up much space. When a game is added to your favorites, the symlink from the complete directory is moved to the favorites directory and vice versa. If you move a game into the ignore directory, the symlink will also move there, but it won't be removed.

You can quickly and easily change the scaling of a game within the frontend, and the scaling directory is used to write the default scaling for a particular game (gamerom_2 or gamerom_1). Lefromoma has been developed and tested on Fedora Core 5, but it should work with other GNU/Linux distributions as well (though it has not been tested on other distros as of yet).
