Midi Pong is a MIDI instrument implementation of the classic game Pong.
Midi Pong is a captivating and enjoyable game that doubles up as a MIDI instrument, making it a unique and exciting experience. If you've played Pong before, you're familiar with how it works, but the Midi Pong takes it to a whole new level. With this game, you can play music as you go. You can access the applet and try it out, but it's not as thrilling as when connected to a soft-synth sound, complete with effects like arpeggiator.
You can create loops by allowing it to play, and the output is pure pong power. I kid you not; this game can compose incidental compositions that will leave you impressed. You can choose between computer, keyboard or mouse control for the left and right rackets. Plus, you can select the scale to use when playing notes when the ball hits, tempo, MIDI output device and MIDI channel.
The game uses Swing and requires Java 1.4 or newer version to run. If you're up for the challenge, download and run it with java -jar pong.jar. You won't regret it.
