OldSpark is a Java-based software that allows users to emulate multiple arcade games from the past.
OldSpark is a Java-based multi arcade emulator that now supports a total of 21 games (2 of which are buggy). The source code has been made available, and while it may not be everything the developer wanted it to be, it can still be a valuable tool for other programmers and curious individuals. The developer welcomes questions and feedback.
In the latest release, several improvements and additions have been made. The GalaxianVideo base driver has been enhanced and is now 100% functional, as is the complete Scramble Bootleg driver. Support has also been added for War of the Bug and Mooncresta. The CPU now supports the 0xED67 (RRD) opcode and the 0xFDCBxx3E (SRL (IY+d)) undoc opcode with the ZigZag game in mind. The SLL undoc opcode and LD r,RLC(IY+d),LD r,RRC(IY+d) undoc opcode have also been added.
Additional game support includes Pisces, Skybase, Uniwars, and Scorpion on Mooncresta hardware. However, the support for Skybase remains incomplete at 5%.
Furthermore, security has been increased for the IO.out8() opcode, and the CPU now supports the 0xEDA1 (CPI) cpu Opcode. Finally, the 0xED4A (ADC HL,BC) opcode has also been added. Overall, OldSpark is a solid emulator that continues to improve with each release.
