This software mimics the audio of a Hammond B3 organ.
Organ Session is a software instrument that emulates the sound of a Hammond B3. Available in Logic and GarageBand versions, the Logic-version includes 50 EXS24 Sampler Instruments and 100 EVB3 Plug-In Settings. For Main Stage, the best of the new Sampler Instruments and EVB3 Plug-In Settings were combined to create a Main Stage Concert including 80 patches.
The EXS24 Sampler Instruments are designed to look like new software instruments, and the GarageBand version includes 100 Software Instruments based on the Instrument-Generator "Tone Wheel Organ," which uses the same sound engine as the Logic EVB3. The samples were recorded by chromatically sampling the drawbars of a Hammond B3, recording one sample for each note of each of the nine drawbars for five octaves. Additional chromatic sampled organ-percussion settings were also included.
In addition to multisamples of drawbars and organ-percussion, there are also samples of some popular B3 registrations like Full Organ, First Three, First Four, Even Bars or registrations with C3 vibrato. Using multisamples of complete registrations allows complex Hammond-Sounds with a limited number of voice elements. All sample recordings were done without using an amplifier, distortion and leslie to allow flexible use of Logic effects and realistic switching between slow and fast leslie using the Rotor Cabinet effect.
Organ Session also includes sampled registrations of the legendary Hammond A100. The sounds offered by Organ Session include punchy and smacky Hammond sounds with consisely key click and adjustable percussion, rock organs with slightly or strong distortion, traditional entertainer organs, classic drawbar-registrations, and cool jazz-organs.
Organ Session offers the quality and quantity of a comparable Plug-in Board, Software-Instrument or high-quality Sample-CD. It is very useful for Rock, Pop, Jazz, Funk, House, Entertainment or Ambient music. Some of the EXS24 Instruments are using Multi-Outputs, allowing users to use the Mixer-Fader of the Aux-Channels as virtual drawbars with the support of Logic Pro 8.
Because the very flexible EVB3 has a different sound than the sampled B3, the product includes new EVB3 Plug-In settings. Logic Express Users can use the GarageBand Software Instruments instead of the EVB3 Plug-In settings.
