As a crucial component of the Large Data Joint Capabilities and Technology Development project, ossimPlanet allows users to explore and interact with accurate 3D global visualizations. Multiple instances of the software can be synchronized for seamless distributed collaboration.

With native file access, on-the-fly elevation tree topography, and online access to OGC WMS and Worldwind sites, ossimPlanet offers comprehensive support for a broad range of data sets. This includes OSSIM Geo-Spatial Formats, GDAL Geo-Spatial Formats, OGC WMS Interface, WorldWind Servers, Pixia NUI format, kml/kmz files, and Precision Lightworks Urban Models.
