Prepare for Archive is a highly useful tool for users of Entourage 2004 looking to archive all e-mails in all folders that are older than a specific date. This feature is missing from Entourage 2004, which is where this script comes in handy. The script makes use of the Project feature in Entourage 2004 by creating a project in the Project Center named "Archive".
To use the Prepare for Archive script, simply run it and input the desired date when prompted. All e-mails that are older than the date you entered will be assigned to the project named "Archive". You then manually have to use the Export function and choose to Export all items belonging to the "Archive" Project. It's up to you whether you want to delete the items in Entourage or not.
The script will skip over the Drafts, Outbox, Deleted Items, and Junk E-mail folders, but you can customize this feature in the script itself. The script will also recursively handle all folders and subfolders in "Folders on my computer". The script is easy to install - simply put it in the "Entourage Script Menu Items" folder inside your Microsoft User Data folder and try it out.
This script has been tested and works perfectly fine, but users are advised to use it at their own risk. It is important to note that the script never attempts to Archive or delete anything.
