pyTivoX

pyTivoX is a great software to consider if you're looking for a free and user-friendly tool to help you transfer your media files from your Mac to your TiVo. This software is an open-source replacement for the upload feature of Tivo Desktop Plus, meaning that it's a great choice if you're looking for an alternative to that software.

When you're using pyTivoX, you'll find that it's straightforward and easy to use. All you have to do is run the program and then click on the 'plus' icon located at the bottom. From there, you can choose the directory containing the files you want to share. You'll then need to input a name to share as, and ensure that the right type is selected (e.g. video, photo, etc.). If you want to add more shares, you can do so, and then click the 'restart' button. It's worth noting that when you click 'restart', you won't receive any visual cues, but the underlying pytivo program will be restarted.

Once you've followed these steps, you can head over to your TiVo and check the bottom of the 'now playing' list to see your shares.
