RE:Flex is an innovative plugin that offers visually stunning morphs and warps. This software comes equipped with an easy-to-use interface that makes morphing and warping a hassle-free process. One of the best features of RE:Flex is its compatibility with Adobe After Effects. This software tool is especially easy to learn because it integrates with After Effects’ drawing and masking tools. Thus, there is no need to learn new software or user interfaces.
RE:Flex comes with two plugins, RE:Flex Warp and RE:Flex Morph that can create warps effortlessly. Using the proprietary tracking software developed by RE:Vision, RE:Flex combines hand feature-matching with automatic image registration making it the first morphing program in the market to do so.
RE:Flex does not require meshes or new user interfaces to create warps. Users simply need to specify the “from” geometry (in red) and the “to” geometry (in yellow). Masks can be open or closed, and they need not be connected in any particular way. Additionally, RE:Flex’s automatic alignment feature uses hand-specified correspondences to align non-handmatched parts of the image.
The software features seamless warping and has many key features that make it excellent for use. RE:Flex supports After Effects mask geometries which include splines and polylines, enabling users to create smooth non-polygonal warping. It can direct warping through sets of “from” geometries and “to” geometries at each frame.
The requirements for using RE:Flex depend on the software suite you plan to use it with. To use it with After Effects, Adobe After Effects 5.0 and up is needed, including native Intel Mac support for AE CS3. For combustion (Autodesk), combustion 3.0 and up are required. For Fusion (eyeon), eyeon Fusion 5.01 and up with the ability to publish and connect the spline vertices within RE:Flex is essential. Finally, for Shake (Apple), Apple Shake 3.50 and up is required.
The only limitation of RE:Flex is that the demo version has an “X” on each image if you do not have a registration key and are not running combustion 4. If you are running combustion 4, you do not need a registration key.
