ScopePar enables an old PC to function as a multi-channel oscilloscope using its parallel port. The software is controlled via SeriCon on a separate PC's user interface. It can be run on the old PC by booting it with DOS.

The free trial version of SeriCon is usually sufficient for most applications. One of the essential features of ScopePar is that it functions as a 5-channel square wave oscilloscope. This means that it can only read the high or low levels of the port pins, and later versions may include the ability to show curves, but you will need an ADC attached to the port.
With SeriCon, only two channels will be displayed unless you have the full license. The system can reach sampling rates of around several hundred kilohertz. The measurement can be triggered by the first channel, and you can also select the level change (from low-to-high or high-to-low).
The system to measure can also be triggered by the output data pins, just before the measurement period starts. With the full license, the measurement can be automated by specifying the period of sending the command from SeriCon. Overall, ScopePar and SeriCon are practical tools for those who need to access multi-channel oscilloscope functionality.
