Signal Inspector

Signal Inspector is an excellent Mac OS X application that is specifically designed for audio electronics work. As a user, I find it to be the perfect tool for my signal generation and analysis needs. The application offers a range of tools that have simple and effective interfaces. It can support both external USB sound cards and the built-in audio hardware, making it an extremely versatile application for most sample resolutions and rates.

One of the best aspects of Signal Inspector is its spectrum analyzer with variable size FFT. The spectrogram (waterfall) offers selectable dynamic range, and the oscilloscope has one channel and basic trigger capability, which makes it easy to use. Furthermore, it offers a level monitor with peak and average readings, which is incredibly helpful.

The software also has a tone generator that includes sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth waveforms. Additionally, the noise generator is currently limited to white noise, but still offers a range of options. Furthermore, there is a pulse generator with control for rise and fall time, making it even more versatile.

Overall, I highly recommend Signal Inspector to anyone looking for a powerful and straightforward audio electronics work tool. Its numerous features make it a comprehensive offering, and the simplistic user interface is a huge plus.
