Speculator: The Stock Trading Simulation

Speculator is a highly sophisticated software that provides a unique trading experience to its users. For instance, at $200,000, players are allowed to have a margin account, while those who reach $300,000 are permitted to participate in short selling of stocks. Reaching $400,000 enables players to buy or sell options on any of the stocks in the simulation. Finally, at $500,000, players are considered advanced enough to speculate on highly leveraged commodity futures or stock index futures.

With a wide selection of over 1000 stocks and 15 funds (ETF's) to choose from, players are able to invest in government and corporate bonds issued by various companies. Everything in Speculator takes place within simulated financial markets and a continually evolving world economy. The software also provides users with the option to trade in the U.S. dollar or choose from 18 other currencies, such as the Euro or Pound. Additionally, players can opt to play at different levels where taxes are taken into consideration.

To assist players in analyzing companies and the 70 industry groups in the simulation, Speculator offers various research tools. These tools allow players to analyze factors such as commodity prices, tax rates, and interest rates, enabling them to make informed decisions to maximize their investments.
