SQL Construction Kit

SQL Construction Kit is a software that offers a simple and easy approach to generating DML SQL for popular RDBMS systems using the Builder and Factory patterns. Its SelectBuilder, InsertBuilder, UpdateBuilder, and DeleteBuilder are lightweight and efficient compared to other ORM tools. The software is entirely written in Java, so users don't need to learn any special configuration or query languages. The first version of this software was released in 2001 and has been in production use ever since.

Apart from the Builder patterns, the software also features a Facade patterned Database object that wraps a Datasource object. This provides a framework for executing the results produced by the Builder objects while simplifying transaction and batch management. The Database object is also capable of handling SQL exceptions transparently in a default manner. Additionally, it provides a simple object-oriented approach via wrappers around the database metadata.

SQL Construction Kit is designed to make the creation of runtime dynamic SQL easy without DDL (Data Definition Language) builders. While the DDL for various databases is highly varied, trying to abstract it to a single generation framework would be counterproductive. There are no plans to address DDL in the future, making SQL Construction Kit solely dedicated to this objective.
