When the molecules are formed, the used atoms will be removed and new atoms will appear. A timer above the grid will show you the remaining time, and the test tubes on the left of the screen will indicate the required quantities of the molecules at the current level. You'll need to fulfill the requirements before the time runs out, or the game ends.
