Ultimate Basketball Challenge is a Unix-compatible game that features a 5-on-5 basketball match. With compatibility for Linux and FreeBSD, this game is fully customizable, allowing you to add and edit teams, players, stats, courts, arenas and more. Although the basic AI is available for your play, the game is continuously updated with new features.
Upon executing the 'ubc' binary, the title screen of "Ultimate Basketball Challenge" will be displayed. To start the game, simply press the 's' key. You will be directed to the 'Start A New Game' menu, which currently only has a few usable options: "t" for Team Selection, "s" to Start the Game, and "r" to Return to the Main Menu.
If you wish to select a new team for either player before starting the game, you can press the "t" key. This will lead you to a team selection screen where you can choose the team that you want to play for. Once you're done choosing, press the "r" key to go back to the main menu.
To initiate the game, simply press the "s" key from the "Start A New Game" menu. Each team and their players will be swiftly displayed. During the game, you will control the players with the arrow pad. The shooting function is triggered when pressing the "s" key. If you want to exit the game entirely, double press the 'q' key.
In the latest release, Ultimate Basketball Challenge is rewritten using C++ and SDL library. The graphics have also been improved, and a basic menu system has been included.
