Word Blast

Word Blast is a software designed to help kids build their vocabulary and spelling skills, similar to a game of Hangman. Each turn, the player guesses a letter, and if correct, the letter is displayed in its respective position(s) in the word. Otherwise, a section of the fuse leading to a bundle of dynamite burns. If the word is guessed before 10 incorrect guesses, the player wins and receives an audio compliment. If not, the dynamite explodes.

The game contains a feature that allows the player to view a word's definition before the fuse burns completely, reducing the likelihood of losing. Additionally, Word Blast has a 'vocabulary-builder' mode where the definition of the word is displayed from the outset, making it easier for younger children to play and learn meanings of words on their vocabulary lists from school.

Users have the ability to easily add or edit new words and definitions, and the test mode lets the computer cycle sequentially or randomly through a word list until all words have been presented at least once. Word Blast also includes a Word Find game, where players search for hidden words within an array of letters.

Overall, Word Blast offers an entertaining and educational way for children to enhance their vocabulary and spelling skills with over 1700 words and definitions.
