Workbench Widget is a powerful dashboard tool that provides users with an omnipresent text editor pane. As a software user, I often found myself in the situation where I had to copy text from various sources, such as URLs or exception messages, and either mutate them to further use or take a quick look at them. Workbench Widget solves this problem by allowing users to quickly and easily copy and edit text from different sources that support copy and paste functionality.
One key advantage of Workbench Widget is its ability to handle multiple texts. Users can store multiple texts in one widget and navigate between them using the next, previous, add, and delete buttons. Additionally, the widget includes multiple modes to suit various user preferences. The big mode is the original one, whereas the small mode was designed for users with smaller screens or lots of other widgets on their dashboard. The bar mode, on the other hand, is the ultimate space saver. Users can switch between big and small modes using the "M"-Button, and both modes look and behave identically.
Bar mode is slightly different from the other modes, as it has no text-pane but still includes the buttons and the name of the actual text being used. Users can switch to bar mode by double-clicking the black frame into the tab more. When users click on the "+" button to add a new text, they automatically switch back to the previous mode.
