Developed by Jonas Spillmann
Amphetamine is an exciting Jump'n Run adventure game that comes with unique visual effects. The game was created by Jonas Spillmann, and it has been ported from Windows to Linux. Additionally, the game runs smoothly on some versions of Solaris on SPARC. The current version of Amphetamine is powered by Simple Direct Layer (SDL). This version is maintained by Lukas Loehrer.

The controls of the game are customizable. You can use the left and right arrow keys to move left and fire control to shoot downwards while the space bar allows your character to jump. You can perform different actions by pressing tab and then ESC to access the menu. The in-game screenshot function is triggered by pressing ALT+s.

The game player can customize most of the controls by copying the user.conf file from the Amphetamine data directory to the ~/.amph directory. After copying the file, make the necessary modifications to suit your control preferences.

The different aspects of gameplay are controlled by the amph.conf file in the main Amphetamine directory. You can adjust the values of this file to suit your game speed preference in case the game is too fast or slow.

Amphetamine has the option for DGA mode. To enable it, use the option --fullscreen. Feedback is encouraged in case of any issue experienced as a result of using this mode.

Before installing the game, ensure that SDL v1.0 or newer is installed correctly. Once SDL is installed, edit the Makefile where necessary before typing 'make'. If the build is successful, type 'make install.' This action installs the binary in the directory specified in the Makefile. You also need to install the game's data files.

In conclusion, Amphetamine is an enjoyable game suitable for gamers who love adventure games with exceptional visual effects. It is easy to play and maneuver with customizable controls. With DGA mode enabled, it becomes an even better experience. The game is worth trying and will undoubtedly provide an enjoyable gaming experience.
