A Firefox extension that customizes energy-saving color schemes for CRT monitors.
I recently tried out a Firefox extension called BYM and I must say, it's quite useful! This software allows users to change the color combination displayed on their CRT monitors in order to save energy. By simply clicking on the statusbar icon, users can easily toggle between the extension being ON or OFF.
One important thing to note is that the extension will not affect TFT monitors, so keep that in mind before installation. Additionally, the concept behind the extension is based on the fact that a white pixel uses just as much energy as a black dot on a sheet of paper uses ink from a pen. Thus, inverting the usage of white and black colors on a webpage can lead to energy savings.
