CatBrass is an excellent GTK theme that is specifically designed for the GNOME desktop environment. Installing it is very easy and straightforward. All you need to do is right-click on your desktop and select "Change Desktop Background". Once you are in the Appearance Preferences window, click on the first tab named "Theme". You can then drag and drop the theme's archive into the window. After that, you should receive a confirmation message, and you can activate the theme by clicking on it.

When it comes to GNOME, it is an international effort aimed at developing a complete desktop environment that is entirely based on free software. Their goal includes creating software development frameworks, choosing application software for desktop use, and working on programs that manage application launching, file handling, window, and task management.

Although the original name chosen for GNOME was GNU Network Object Model Environment, this acronym is deprecated now.
