Cbmfs is a Commodore image file system that can be accessed through the fuse driver. It is designed to allow users to access Commodore disk images efficiently.
The cbmfs software is a fuse filesystem that allows for the mounting of 8-bit Commodore disk images onto a local filesystem. Currently, cbmfs supports d64, d71, d81, d80, and d82 images in both read and write modes.

Once these steps are completed, users can mount an image to /mnt by executing the following command: cbmfsmount image.d71 /mnt.
One of the great features of cbmfs is that it attempts to mimic the Commodore filetype by setting certain unix access permissions. If users change the file permissions on unix with chmod, they can tweak the commodore filetype to suit their preferences.
It should be noted that cbmfs is currently in the development phase and may not function as expected. As such, it is recommended that users always work with a backup copy of the image they are mounting in case cbmfs corrupts any of the data.
