Crystal FLOW is a useful tool for analyzing C/C++ code with features such as flowcharts, rich trees, and exports to Visio/JPEG. It offers two editions, one with HTML docs and flowcharts, and another with advanced features like call/data flows, object/stack size, and data dependency analysis.
One of the things I love about this software is that it has multiple flowchart flavors, such as level, optimal, loop, and conditions, which makes it versatile for different types of code. Another great feature is the code and flowchart synchronization while browsing, which means I can easily comment flowcharts for a wider audience.
With Crystal REVS, I can export flowcharts to BMP, JPEG, and VISIO formats, and I can even print large flowcharts in a single page. The software has also made reading code incredibly easy, with auto-formatting of code and comments. I can even line up object names in successive declarations, which makes it easier to read.
Another great feature is the software metrics, such as McCabes and Halstead, which allows me to detect errors easily. The software even has cross-reference for all identifiers, and color-coded metrics for better visualization. I can also import VC++, Visual Studio.Net, and Borland projects, which makes it really easy to get started.
Overall, Crystal REVS has been a game-changer for me. It has helped me understand code in significantly less time and has made coding a lot more enjoyable. I highly recommend this software to anyone who wants to improve their coding skills.
