dvdtoogg

DVDtoOGG is an audio conversion script that can convert the audio content of a DVD to a multi-channel Ogg Vorbis file. This script supports 2 to 6 channels. To accomplish this, DVDtoOGG uses mplayer to detect and extract DVD tracks and subsequently uses oggenc to encode either to a stereo or 5.1 Ogg Vorbis file. I developed this script because transcode is not able to rip in 5.1 channels. To simplify the script, I have kept it as a frontend to player/oggenc, and while there is nothing magical about it, I have spent many hours perfecting it. I hope this script saves you valuable time when converting DVD to OGG.

--first-chapter=< chapter >
--last-chapter=< chapter>

The above options allow you to select different features such as the number of channels, audio format, and other chapter selections. You can use the following examples to guide you
$0 "--encode a full DVD in ogg 2.0 using an ogg quality set to 6"
$0 "--encode a full DVD (/dev/dvd) in ogg 5.1 using ogg quality set to the max"
$0 "--encode the chapter 6 and 7 in ogg 5.1"

In this release, as an additional feature, MPEG1 supports with aid=0 were added.
